Here are some of the key points from Senate Bill 893:

1. “Cannabidiol” or “CBD” is a non-psychoactive compound with delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration not exceeding 0.3% on a dry weight basis, that is derived from hemp as identified in federal law:

2. “Hemp Products” are the products from hemp plants or their parts, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration not exceeding 0.3% on a dry weight basis, or products that are made from such processing.

3. Irrespective of regulations in the genera; statutes:
I. “Marijuana” excludes hemp and hemp products.
II. THC levels up to 0.3% by dry weight in hemp are not considered as controlled substances.
III. Hemp-derived cannabidiols, like CBD, are not seen as controlled substances or adulterants only because they contain CBD.
IV. Hemp products containing hemp-derived cannabidiols are intended for ingestion and are classified as foods, not controlled substances or adulterated products based solely on their CBD content.
